Part of the Inspired by Gibson Collection, it celebrates influential guitars Slash has used during his career, inspiring multiple generations of players around the world. Perfect for every stage and players of all levels, the Epiphone Slash J-45 features all solid wood construction with solid mahogany back and sides, a solid Sitka spruce top with a 50s-style pickguard, Grover® Rotomatic® tuners, Graph Tech® TUSQ® nut and saddle, and Slash’s personal touches including a C-shape neck profile, a flatter, more modern 16" fretboard radius, and an LR Baggs™ VTC preamp and under-saddle pickup for natural acoustic sound when plugged in. Exclusive to the Slash Collection is Slash's “Skully” signature drawing on the back of the headstock and Slash’s signature on the truss rod cover. A custom hardshell case with Slash's "Skully" logo is also included. A battery is not included. To power your pickup, you will need a 9-volt battery.
Sweet Slash-approved appointments
The rounded C-shape profile of the mahogany neck features a flatter 16-inch Indian laurel fingerboard radius — all design elements overseen by Slash himself. These subtle design features translate to an ultra-smooth feel and response that make chording and lead playing a breeze. There are 20 medium-jumbo frets along the fingerboard that are easy on the fingers as well. The truss rod cover also features Slash's engraved signature, and his famous "Skully" drawing is on the back of the headstock. Ivory bridge pins, a reverse-belly Indian laurel bridge, and a Graph Tech TUSQ nut and saddle are added Slash-approved appointments that have a subtle but important effect on the overall resonance of the J-45. Strum a big open first-position chord on this beauty and hear the results!
LR Baggs VTC electronics deliver
The Slash J-45 comes with an LR Baggs VTC acoustic pickup system, a popular choice among acoustic guitarists at Sweetwater. This system features a low-profile, under-saddle transducer that's proven to be more stable and durable than many standard ribbon-type pickups. Its sleek and effective design removes unnecessary internal components to enhance the coupling between the pickup and the guitar and improve the sensitivity of the transducer. The result is a robust, lively, and natural acoustic sound with excellent dynamics and a delicate high end. Combined with an onboard preamplifier with an unobtrusive and removable volume control mounted just inside the soundhole, the VTC gives the Slash J-45 a pure-sounding amplification presence.
