JB Music supported the finals of the 2006 World Battle of the Bands (WBOB) spearheaded by Pulp Magazine last October 5, 2006 held at the Music Hall of SM Mall of Asia. Thousands of rock enthusiasts attended the event that saw the three finalists, Queso, Sin, and Faspitch, battled it out for the coveted prize of representing the Philippines in the World Finals in Hong Kong.

After the exciting performances of the three bands, Queso emerged as the grand winner judged through text message poll and votes from 25 Filipino music experts, among them was JB Music’s Bel Sayson as one of the judges. JB Music gave Php20,000 worth of musical instruments to the third prize winner, Faspitch; Php30,000 to the second prize winner, Sin; and Php50,000 to the grand champion, Queso. On hand to award these prizes was Pulp’s publisher, Vernon Go, accompanied by JB Music’s Vice-President, Jerico Salonga Fernando.

World-renowned products like Laney guitar amplifiers, Gallien-Krueger bass amp, Gretsch drumset, Zildjian cymbals, among others, that are exclusively distributed in the Philippines by JB Music were used during the event. JB likewise supported WBOB’s nationwide tour that took them to such rock bars as 6Underground in Makati City.
